Celtic Muster - Celtic Design

Das war meine zweite Tasche mit einem celtischen Muster. Genaeht in 1996 fuer eine Freundin zum 50. Geburtstag. Zu dieser Zeit habe ich nicht gewusst, wohin mich mein neues Hobby bringen wuerde.

That was my second bag with a celtic design. It was a birthday present for my girlfriends 50th birthday and I had never known how far I end up with my new hobby.

Tasche in der Tasche - Bag in a bag

Heute moechte ich Euch eine Tasche zeigen, die ich nach einer sehr guten Anleitung genaeht habe. Es ist eine Tasche in der Tasche und hat eine Groesse von 20 cm x 20 cm, wenn sie zusammen gefaltet ist.

Today I want to show you a bag in bag. It was a good instruction and when it is folded it has a size 20 cm x 20 cm.

Miramichi - Quiltshow - 04.06.09 - 05.06.09 - 1. Teil

Hier ist der erste Teil der Ausstellung in Miramichi. Es waren zwei sehr schoene Tage und wir hatten mehr als dreihungert Besucher.

Here is the frist part from the quiltshow in Miramichi. We had two nice days and more the threehundred visitors.

Dieser kleine Quilt war gleich am Eingan zu sehen. Auch die Angebote, die zu kaufen waren.

This quilt was close to the entrance and all the other offers which were for sale.

Tallship - Grosssegler

Das war auch eine Anleitung, die aber nicht sehr schwierig war. Die meisten Stoffe hatte ich schon und konnte ich gleich loslegen. Das Motiv wird auf Stabilizer uebertragen, der auf einer Seite nur klebt. Anschliessend die einzelnen Stoffstuecke ausschneiden und auf den Stabilizer legen mit einem Buegeleisen dann festbuegeln. Es wird von oben nach unten gearbeitet, d. h. das Biastape verdeckt jeweils das Ende, wo es vorher abgeschnitten worden ist. Alle drei Lagen werden dabei wieder gleichzeitig gequiltet. Hoffe, das ist verstaendlich. Zum Schluss wird dann das Boot mit Bias abgedeckt. Der Anker und die Gaense sind echt, also nicht aus Stoff. Es hat Spass gemacht und insgesamt habe ich drei Tallships verschenkt.

That was a pattern but not very difficult. I transfered the pattern to one side sticky stabilzer cut out the fabric and ironed it on the sticky side. Then I covered up from the top till the bottom all the biastape cuts. During the covering with the bias I quilted all the three layers at the bias edge with a small zigzag stitch. The last was the boat. The anker and the geese are real. I made three of those tallships and gave them away as a present. It was a fun project.

Stained Glass Sensation - BOM 2006

Dieser Wandbehang hat eine Groesse von 2.70m x 2.10m. Es war ein Jahresprojekt in 2006. Ich habe diesen Quilt in einem Geschaeft gesehen und dachte mir, musst du auch haben. Gesagt getan. Gleich das gesamte Material gekauft und jeden Monat dann jeweils die Anleitung dazu. In meinem alten Haus in Nova Scotia wollte ich damit eine Wand verkleiden, aber jetzt bin ich umgezogen und die Waende sind alle nicht so hoch. Leider stoesst er ein bisschen am Boden auf. Am 05.06.09 - 06.06.09 wird er in einer Ausstellung hier in Miramichi zu sehen sein. Ich bin gespannt, wie die Reaktionen sind. Jeden Tag freue ich mich, wenn ich sehe, wie mir das gelungen ist. War nicht sehr einfach.

This wallhanging measures 9feet x 7feet. It was a project over a year in 2006. I saw this one in a store and thought I have to get this. I bought the whole material and than every month the pattern. In my old house in Nova Scotia I had a wall to cover but now in my new house the walls are not high enough. So it's little bit on the floor. From the 05.06.09 - 06.06.09 it is on a quilt exhibition here in Miramichi and I'm looking for some reactions what they say about it. Every day I'm happy to see it and I'm proud to have it done. It was not so easy.

Blick durch ein Fenster - Look through a window

Dieser Wandbehang sieht groesser aus als er ist. Das Fenster war eine Anleitung und ich musste nur das passende Motiv aussuchen. Aber ich bin ja immer gut sortiert. Das Muster wird uebertragen auf Stabilizer, der auf beiden Seiten klebt. Anschliessend auf die Rueckseite des schwarzen Stoffen aufbuegeln und dann an den Raendern ausschneiden. Papier entfernen und auf das Motiv buegeln. Mit kleinem Zigzag Stich alle drei Lagen quilten. Das war's.

This wallhanging looks bigger than normal. It was a pattern and I had only to look for a motiv. I've transfered the pattern on stabilizer which is on both sides sticky. Than I ironed it on the wrong side of the fabric cut it out removed the paper and ironed it on the motiv. Quilted it with all three layers together. That's it.

Dieser Wandquilt war eine Arbeit fuer den Winter. Es war sehr zeitaufwendig, weil auch dieses Muster erst auf Freezer Paper uebertragen wird und anschliessend aufgebuegelt. Alle drei Lagen werden wieder gleichzeitig gequiltet.

This is a quilt from Keepsake Quilting and was a kit with all the fabric and a very good instruction. I transfered the pattern onto freezer paper and than I ironed it on the wrong site of the black fabric. Than I cut out each field close to the black edge and glued it on the freezer paper. I messured the green fabric and put under the open field but with some glue. After this I've used a little zigzag stitch to put the fabic together. Some month later I prepaered the sandwich and quilted it with machine, invisible threat, close to the black edge, added the binding and so it was done.
